Presenting: Jalaine Vetiver

We made it back home this morning at 5:30 a.m. and we’ve both been pretty out-of-it due to the sudden lurch forward into Dallas time. I had some great packages waiting, but only had the time and energy to open and explore one of them: Jalaine Vetiver.

The packaging is obviously terrific, though I’m quite certain they could have lopped $75.00 off the price by choosing a much simpler presentation. I mean, you’re supposed to purchase perfume for the perfume . . . right?

The hoopla certainly does, however, manage to lend the thing an air of special-ificence, despite my skepticism.

More photos after the jump!

Aint she a beaut?

Wait! I won’t be seduced by the cut of your jib. It’s what’s on the inside that counts — but from what I can gather after five hours strong of wear, Jalaine Vetiver is just as lovely on the inside as it is on the out . . .

A reviewer on Makeup Alley had this to say about J.V.: “It’s not a fragrance I want to think about or analyze or even praise….I just want it. Unconditionally. Forever.”

UPDATE:

J.V. is, above everything else, a calm, emotionally translucent perfume. The amber, musk and patchouli blend with the sharp, grassy scent of Vetiver to achieve a solid balance between bright and earthen, sweet and smoke.

For fans of straight-up Vetiver, this might well be a disappointment of a fragrance, but for those who might enjoy grassy ingredients layered across a light golden base, Jalaine Vetiver will be pure pleasure.

Fantastic photos! It’s amazing how you caught the prism effect of the bottle.

I had to literally RUN around the house, grabbing the camera, grabbing the perfume bottle, then dashing back to the ledge, then running to find a cloth to wipe all my fingerprints off the sides of the bottle . . . I’m surprised there was still any sunshine left by the time I was done, but the prism effect was well worth the effort.
