I tested a sample of Ms. Harris’ Frankincense Myrrh Rose Maroc oil a month ago and never fully shook its grip (I swear, the thing is like the Jaws of Life, but to the nose . . . you know?), so I finally broke down and ordered a bottle, though I’m not so sure I bought it for the juice as much as the opportunity to photograph the darn thing:
I walked up to the BF and said, “This is the stuff that I was taking photographs of today!” and I put my arm in front of his nose. He sniffed and said, “Oh, okay, yeah, it kind of smells like a department store at Christmas time.”
I have no idea what that means.

A round of thanks each to you and the BF…to you, for more perfume porn; to the BF, for bringing it back to reality and quashing any lemming tendencies.
Nice to just veg out with pics and not preoccupy myself with conjuring scent…occasionally…
Oh, you’re very welcome for the bottle porn, and yes, the BF is great that way. He can puncture a hole right through the most bullet-proof of lemming balloons.
well, if you decide the juice is not for you….I’ve been going back and forth about buying it and Nuit Noire for a month.
Oh, it’s definitely for me. I like it. A lot. Especially for the colder weather we’re now experiencing.
The BF is unimpressed, but he’s unimpressed with 95% of what I wear, so I just kind of have to fly by the seat of my pants in that regard.
Nuit Noir is very nice indeed, but the Harris oil has a drier, mustier character to it I enjoy. Nuit Noir, however, is complicated and a bit more classicly extravagant, which would work for a greater variety of occasions.
I read a review on a blog (and I can’t remember where) which stated that the Regina Harris oil is unusual and striking, and works if you’re the kind of person who likes to cause a stir with the fragrance you’re wearing.
Great pix! And a great scent. Need to get mine out and wear it again soon. The weather is perfect for it right now (cold and nasty).
I concur!
It’s so gloomy and cold out that rubbing some of it into my skin was the very best idea I had all day.
I know perfectly well I shall end up buying them both. Also L’air du desert marocain and Lyric as well. It’s just a matter of time….these are the four that have SPOKEN to me this last three months.
Perfectly happy to incorporate BOTH perfume descriptions into the novel of my life…..
In the meantime I shall pleasantly envy you your new toy.
They kind of do cry out to be purchased as a twin set, don’t they? I know I shall forever hear the muffled sobs of my Frankincense Myrrh Rose Maroc bottle as it mourns in the back of the cupboard for its lost Amber Vanilla twin, but whatever. Life is hard. Buck it up, pal.
And there aint nothin’ to gripe about with your other two choices, either. A stellar list of longing.
