Vero Profumo: The EDP Versions (Update)

Back in January, I posted an entry about independent Swiss perfumer Vero Kern working on EDP formulations of the extraits (or parfums) she offers under the Vero Profumo banner. At that time, she said she expected the EDP’s to be available sometime in March of this year.

But with March already come and gone, and no Vero Profumo EDP’s in sight, I was beginning to get nervous — then I received an email from Vero Kern on Tuesday (April 27th) with an update on the progress of getting her EDP’s to market:

“I would like to inform you that the new EDP’s are still not available due to production problems (not IFRA related). We expect the first delivery in mid July . . . I’m still working hard for the distribution and production changes for my brand, but I’m optimistic that all will proceed fine. Attached you will find some impressions of the EDP bottle and the new packaging taken at the Milan Exhibition launch at the end of this past March.”

And so she included some professional photographs of the new EDP bottle. I didn’t know quite what to expect when she last mentioned that she was working with a supplier on an EDP bottle, but the new bottle is a larger version of her original (and very attractive) small parfum bottles, featuring what looks like an antiqued metal cap instead of the glass stoppers. It’s gorgeous.

The new EDP bottle is on the left in the photograph below.

“Hello? Someone asked for perfection and here I am!”

And there are boxes! My one complaint over the Vero Profumo packaging was that her bottles came wrapped in a rough cloth, period. No box. Well, it seems as though Ms. Kern has rectified that one small failing and now, I have nothing to complain about at all (I know, hard to believe, right?).

Ask and ye shall receive.

Nice.

So, for those of us who have been wondering just what was going on in Vero Profumo EDP-Land, we now have photographic evidence that progress is afoot. I know I’m very much looking forward to July.
